Oops!

I hit enter instead of tab. Anyway, we are home again in Halifax after a great trip to Ontario. Great to see everyone who was able to get to the youth reunion. Great to see family and friends. It was sad too because a classmate from high school drown, leaving four young kids behind. Maybe you can pray for her husband and children. Also sad because my new baby nephew was hospitalized with breathing difficulties. He is on the mend and home again but it was hard news to take too.

Now, I will be extremely busy prepping for school. I have just two weeks til our first staff meetings on Aug 29. Busy as this time of year is, it is my favourite time in the school year, when all is fresh and new and ready to be tackled with new determination and spirit as we look forward to another year of adventure.

I am learning these days to be thankful for each day. So off I go to be with my kids and to prep for school and to await my husband's homecoming from work.

Don't take this day for granted. I didn't know the classmate well who died but I could tell from the discussion at the wake and from the pictures and scrapbooks, that she must have lived everyday to the full. I want to do that because you just never know, do you?

Home Again!

I will see my bro and sis-in-law and their two older kids and my mom and dad and best friends....but I am so excited to meet my new nephew just born in May!

What I WANT to do in life!

1. Be faithful to my Faithful God
2. Be the best wife I can be
3. Love my kids to pieces
4. Give my all to teaching while there and to kids while at home
5. Love my friends and have them over often
6. See Europe, Australia, and the Caribean someday
7. Get and stay in shape
8. Have non-alcoholic dacquaris with the girls and fill each other in on life often, over a plate of nachos!!!!!
9. Have one more baby (Yes, I know I first have to convince the hubby to have more!)
10. Buy another house as big and new and beautiful as the one on Green Village Lane was-this time without being attached to another townhouse!
11. Read 10 books a year
12. Become a great cook
13. Try waterskiing
14. Save enough to send my kids to college so they don't have to worry about student loans
15. Take my kids to DisneyWorld! :)
16. Never lose touch with long distance friends and family
17. Go to Ontario every year like I have been to keep in touch with Ontario family and friends
18. Teach Primary (kindergarten) again-though I am sure I will love teaching grade one and two this year
19. Be a godly example and influence for my kids
20. Create a warm and lovely home environment
21. Love my family unconditionally
22. Learn to knit and crochet
23. Have a home gym
24. Own a backyard pool and jacuzzi
25. Buy a second car
26. Always have time for friends and to laugh
27. To never finish this list but keep adding to it...

What do you want to see yourself doing in life?
What MUST you do before you go to heaven?

Life is so sweet!

I have become increasingly aware of how good I have it in the last few days.
I have a great God who never leaves me alone and always loves me and is there to guide me. I have a wonderful husband who would do anything for me and give me the world. I have two beautiful children who fill my life with joy and laughter (multiple times a day at the cute and funny things they do and say!). I have a great school to teach at and a lower grade where the kids still want to be in school and love to learn.
I have incredible friends. So many that I don't know how I will ever spend enough quality time with them all.
So many blessings. I need to count them much more often. Gives a different perspective than looking at the few things that may be going wrong (in my view) when so much is going really, really well and good.

I am so thankful.

Roni, I miss you!

Settling In!

WOW! Who knew unpacking with kids could take so much time. I am slowly finding a place for everything and putting everything in its place! Or in the yard sale pile! It has again been a very long time since I have updated my blog. Hope you still check in once in awhile for the odd entry I do get around to publishing.

Lots of work around here with kids, unpacking, putting away, reorganizing, preparing to go back to teaching in the fall and catching up with friends here in HRM.

Miss you all in Sussex! And Michigan (Judy) and VA (Heather) and Ontario (countless!).

Also preparing to go home to Ontario to visit my parents and to meet my new nephew in late July.
